We will first visit Topkapi Palace Complex, focusing on its huge kitchen quarters, which were run by 1300 cooking professionals and used to provide daily meals to around 10.000 palace residents.  We will also have a brief tour of the other parts of the palace.
Next, we will proceed to the famous Spice Market. Built in 1664, the market used to sell the spices only during the Ottoman period, but now at this L-shaped gallery one can find every kind of shops.  From here we will walk through Galata Bridge, which connects the historical peninsula with the modern city center.  The lower level of the bridge features various taverns and sea-front cafes.  Here we can stop for a lunch break.
After crossing the bridge we will drive to Taksim Square and start our walking tour of İstiklal Street, where the heart of the modern Istanbul beats. As we walk along this pedestrian street, we will stop to see the Fish Market. Fish Market is a covered alley, connected to historical Flower Passage. Before it served as fresh fish market for residents of the area -here is where the name comes from. Nowadays you can still find fish stalls towards the end of the alley; but the Istiklal entrance to the market is occupied with small traditionally Turkish fast food shops. Here you can try fried mussels with special garlic sauce (midye tava) or a baked potato with different fillings (kumpir).
We will continue towards Tunel area. Small side streets of this area are filled with bohemian pubs and cafes, preferred by local Intelligentsia. We will stop at one of them for a tea/coffee break on own before returning to the hotel/harbor/airport.
