Day 01: Istanbul / Safranbolu

Information about Safranbolu:
Safranbolu is located about 4.5 – 5 hours drive east from Istanbul and is well worth a visit. It is a small town of well-preserved Ottoman half-timbered houses in the Black Sea hill country. Now a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, Safranbolu is a museum in itself, with its charming Ottoman houses lining cobblestone lanes and traditional craftsmen still practicing their trade.
Safranbolu was on a major trading route to the Black Sea in the 17th c. making the town wealthy. Many patrons established caravanserais, mosques and Turkish baths and beautiful mansions were built. During a visit to Safranbolu you may walk the narrow cobblestone streets, visit some restored old houses and see traditional trades and crafts such as wood carving being practiced. Safranbolu is also famous for its "lokum" or Turkish delight. You may want to visit the nearby town of Yorukkoy "Nomad Village", which is very authentic.

Program and visits: Pick up from your hotel at 06.30am for aprox. 5 hours drive to Safranbolu through Adapazari and Bolu.  

Today our visits will include Hidirlik Hill, Kaymakamlar Museum, Coppersmiths, Shoemakers and Pack Saddle-Makers Bazaars, Izzet Mehmet Pasa Mosque, Cinci Inn, Arasta Bazaar, Kopru Mosque, The Sundial Clock, Cinci Bath, Old Goverment Building, Clock Tower, and then we will visit Yoruk ‘Nomad Village’ 10km away from Safranbolu.

Meal: Dinner

 

Day 02: Safranbolu / Sightseeing tour / Istanbul
After breakfast we will check-out from our hotel, before return Istanbul we will visit Incekaya Aqueduct, after short photo break we will visit Bulak Mencilis Cave which is 6km long. (only 400m is permitted to visitors).
